Are you looking for a massage with just the right amount of pressure, not too deep and not too gentle?

At Avoshea Therapy, our massage therapy treatment approach is based on how your tissues feel, your health history and your level of comfort.  Massage techniques vary in pressure depth and movement direction, but all strive to relieve your pain and discomfort. Some of the benefits of Massage Therapy include:

  • Restores joint mobility
  • Improves muscular function
  • Decreases mental stress
  • Reduces muscle tension and pain

Check out our list of Massage Therapy offerings below:

Registered Massage Therapy

30 mins | 45 mins | 60 mins | 90 mins

Registered Massage Therapy is applied with the hands, fingers, elbows and forearms to manually loosen up your tight, achy muscles and encourage relaxation.

These treatments are suitable for most people and are always customized to address your specific concerns.

Hot Stone Massage*

60 mins

Hot Stone Massage is a natural therapy in which smooth, warmed basalt stones are used to massage the body. The heat from the stones are able to effectively penetrate the deeper tissues and relax the muscles.

*Hot stone massage is safe for most people but is not recommended if you are sensitive to heat and/or do not enjoy heat treatments.

Pregnancy Massage

30 mins | 45 mins | 60 mins

The perinatal period can be a very stressful time, both physically and emotionally. As your pregnancy advances, hormonal changes, rapid weight gain and water retention can put a lot of strain on the joints and surrounding soft tissues. Working with a knowledgeable and experienced therapist can help ease your body and mind during this transition.

Postpartum Massage

30 mins | 45 mins | 60 mins | 90 mins

After delivering your baby, the body goes into recovery mode.  It begins to heal and restore most organs and musculature to pre-pregnancy status while preparing your body to nourish your newborn baby.  Massage during this phase is beneficial for relieving your aches and pains from the labour and delivery while decreasing emotional stress. Treatments are usually performed during the first 12 weeks postpartum and can be extended depending on how your recovery is progressing.

Infant receiving massage

Infant Massage

30 mins | 60 mins

Infant massage helps to increase the bond between you and your baby.  Communication is challenging during the infant stage and stress can be high when learning to adjust to life with an infant.  Incorporating infant massage can be a great way to relax and unwind while learning your baby’s cues.

We offer private treatments for infants 0-12 months, where you will receive general information on safety, instructions on how to safely perform a massage and supervised time to practice.  We make every effort to provide your baby with hands on treatment during your appointment. However, in the event that your baby’s cues indicate that massage is not wanted during your appointment, we will demonstrate on a doll to ensure you are equipped with the tools to practice independently at home.
